With Mercedes winning another consecutive world championship, we were commissioned to create a large format F1 image to be displayed in the Mercedes Benz-World museum.
With the image needing to reflect many years of Mercedes' success, both past and future, the car , driver and scene capture the teams efforts, rather than any one driver, car model or track.
To achieve the enormous print size at a high resolution, we created a cgi scene, to which we applied vector based motion tracking to create a dynamic result.

a life-sized museum display of the Formula One Mercedes Petronas team garages.
Working closely with the Mercedes F1 team, we created a detailed CGI model of the entire team Mercedes double garage at Silverstone. The resulting 14m x 3m illuminated canvas reproduced a view into the garages at true-to-life size.
As a result, the images needed to be both heavily detailed and highly accurate. A site visit to the pit lane of the Silverstone international circuit enabled us to document and reproduce the pit lane track surface and gather the spherical view of Silverstone that would be seen in the reflective surfaces throughout the canvas.

a breakdown of the retouching process for the M-Class Mercedes for Mercedes-Benz World. Using a great set of images by automotive photographer, James Lipman, we combined content from a range of photographs to create a single hero shot. The resulting image presents a rich and information filled account of the 4x4 driving experience, while retaining the excitement of the M-Class in motion.
